I think such aspect of computering would need a proper category, yet should it be only a sub category from Hardware a a proper category ?
As Data storage also imply technics like compacting datas (what's the exact word?) or putting data in sound signal (Cassettes), encoding in various format... and so on...
Well it is not completly Hardware.
