ASCII Tools ([[CP/M]]-80) are a set of tools for programmers and code developers, who want to have their source codes consolidated into individual ASCII files stored in the CPC6128. ASCII Tools have been under development since 1988 by [[KSL|KSL]]. The main task was to create a set of tools in order to deal with very large source code ASCII files, that were transferred from Windows or MS-DOS Systems to the CPC6128 and vise versa. Their The virgin name of the software was CPC-WRITE.

In 2004, the first simple version (v.1) of ASCII Tools for CP/M plus was presented at the [[COM II|CPC Meeting II]] organized by [[TFM]].
