Aim of the game
---------------

A mistyc journey into the past. A treasure trail adventure in search for gold, silver and bronze as the magical sorceress and her alter ego, tests her powers against the forces of evil and powers of darkness in the Castle of Doom. A race against time and a test of you powers of thinking.

Recover the gold, silver and bronze ingots (each different point values) from the locked rooms of the castle and carry them, piece by piece to the west battlements (start screen). The first ingot of each precious metal is directly accessible, the rest hidden and a further ingot of each type is not available until one of the same kind is deposited in the start screen.

You control the sorceress who can pass through blue framed doors, and her doppleganger who can pass through green framed doors. Either can pass through white framed doors and coloured locked doors with the correct colour key. Once opened these doors remain so. Make sure the character is facing the object to pick it up before passing over them. Each character can only carry one object and one key and must drop one to pick up another. An hourgglass displays time remaining but it can be considered as an energy gauge too as it discharges rapidly if the controlled character is attacked by any of the nasties. It can be refilled by discovering and reaching the correct room.

Detail of the object:
    - Gold shield = Prevents from spiders
    - hand-held mirror = Protects against the magic of the gorgon
    - Candle = Allows to illuminate the room plunged into darkness

Hints and tips
    - Make good use of all items, even if they seems to be useless.
    - Exiting the room where the green key is located without leaving a decoy will unleash a deadly curse.
    - Seek out the room in which you can refill the hourglass to make your task a little easier, maybe making this room the convenient place to gather useful objects.
    - Success depends in the ability to collect and displace useful objects through the different rooms of the castle to make them available at the right time with the right character.
    - Five ingots of any precious metal will end the game for sure, but only gold will merit a pat on the back.
    - Want to discover the real atmosphere of DOPPLEGANGER with the music that inspired the game? Try to play listening Concerto for piano in A Minor, Op. 16: I. Allegro molto moderato, from Edvard Grieg
