Maniac (Jon Woodley) was a graphist, coder and cracker, and the founding member of CBS ([[CPC Boom Squad!]]). The group contained another member, whose existence [[BoGGer!]] and [[Slice]] doubted. He later joined [[Donut System]], notably contributing gfx for [[BePSiL Generations]].

After, he was invited to join [[The Firm]], but formed [[Donut System]] instead. [[Malfunction]] and [[KOD]] inspired him to program in machine code (Malfunction even photocopied out a 200 page machine code book for him). He left the scene in 1996, shortly after [[Eliot]] and [[Villain]] invited him to join [[Benediction]]. In Summer 1997 he started programming again earnestly, messing about with full MC routines (including raster scrolls) and coding the demo [[B-Boy]], inspired by a graphic by [[BoGGer!]] (of a bee having a bad dream about a folded up newspaper). This was his first fully machine code demo, but although it all worked he never crunched and linked it (with [[Antoine]]'s [[S-DAF Expander]]) and Slice eventually didn't have enough time for the CPC again.

He also produced a number of cracks, under different pseudos like Mongrel, The Compi Killer and TUH (The Unbeatable Haggis).

The only demo of Malfunction's that I remember (and that you sent me!) was his part for the Take-Off Megademo volume 2. The Irish Cracker (TIC) was one of the pseudonyms used by Derek Hyland of Midleton, near Cork. He was also known as TIAF (The Irish Amstrad Fanatic), The Invisible Coder and Highlander. He was a member of [[The Firm]] and [[BENG]].

TIC was, however, a swapper rather than actually being a cracker. He ran a PD library called [[Amsof PD]]. He also wrote for the fanzines [[Amstrad Fun]] and [[CPC Forever]]. An inimitable writing style, and harsh views on British CPC users, led to an on-going feud with the writers of the [[BTL]] fanzine, who once reprinted one of his particularly vituperative and impenetrable swap-letters in full.

His demo releases were the [[6am Eternal]] demo, co-written with [[Pawn]] (Mark McCormick), and [[Intox II]], co-written with [[Keith Woods]].

When he moved onto the PC, Derek became known as Joshua of Hades.

Malfunction (Malcolm Dowse) was a coder and member of [[The Firm]]. Initially writing the rather simple looking BASIC game The Smiley Affair, he raised his game at a rate of knots. He was going to code [[Bad Mag]] issue three but left the scene shortly after coding half of it, giving the unreleased texts to [[Slice]] to use in [[Donut Mag]]. He was also responsible for the coding of the routine that displayed bold, italic, and double height text in Donut Mag.

Donut System was a group created by [[Slice]]. Although he'd just been accepted into [[The Firm]], he decided to create his own group.

Jonty (John Jones) was a member of the English CPC scene. Starting out as a swapper, he eventually programmed a few things and released a fanzine ([[After Dark]]) which later became a disczine, and the disczine [[Night Life]], which was a more adult affair. He was a major contributor to [[Otto]].

: This is an index of pages, rather than a list per se. At the bottom of the relevant pages (so [[Nich]], [[Slice]] etc.) write <nowiki>[[Category:CPC scene members]]</nowiki> . Look at the source for any of the existing pages to see how it's done.
